Leiston to host its second Sizewell C careers event of 2025
Sizewell C is set to host its second Leiston-based careers event of 2025, offering local residents the opportunity to explore the wide range of job and training opportunities available right on their doorstep.
The event will take place on 29 October at the Sizewell Social Club on King Georges Avenue, and will feature representatives from Sizewell C and around 20 of its supply chain partners.
Organised in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), the fair follows a series of successful events across Suffolk that have attracted more than a thousand attendees.
Running from 16:00 to 19:00, the event is open to everyone – from recent graduates to those looking to start their first job or explore a new career path.
Stuart Allsopp, Jobs Service Lead at Sizewell C, said: “Our careers fair in Leiston gives local people the chance to find out more about the huge range of opportunities available right here on their doorstep. It doesn’t matter what your background is – come down, chat to us and learn about the role you could play on our incredible project.”
At peak construction, at least a third of the 7,900 workforce – around 2,600 jobs – will come from East Anglia.
Sizewell C has also committed to providing at least 1,500 apprenticeships, including 540 for those living in Suffolk.
Lesley Hill, Mayor of Leiston-cum-Sizewell Town Council, said: “I am delighted that Leiston-cum-Sizewell is once again hosting a careers event. It is so important that local people understand the jobs and opportunities that the construction project will bring to our community.”
A further careers fair will be held in Lowestoft in early December.
