Linxon celebrates the inauguration of BMRCL Reach 5 for Bangalore’s Metro

Linxon are thrilled to announce the successful inauguration of Reach 5 of the Yellow Line corridor of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) project, held by the Prime Minister of India.

Spanning 19 kilometers and connecting Bommasandra to RV Road (Ragiguda), Reach 5 includes 16 stations and links the industrial hubs and IT tech parks of Southern Bangalore to the city’s central zones. This corridor is expected to significantly reduce road congestion and improve daily commute efficiency for thousands of passengers. The metro plays a vital role in reducing Bangalore’s carbon footprint and is a cornerstone of the city’s sustainability strategy.

This is the first time in India that a 19 kilometers route length with 16 stations has been inaugurated and is being opened for passengers in one go. Linxon has been complemented by the BMRCL customer for the good work in Reach 5.

Vivek Rawat Operations Director Railway – Linxon AMEA “Many congratulations to the team and we thank everyone who supported us in achieving this very important milestone.”

The Linxon scope included engineering, project management, supply, erection, testing and commissioning for the complete power supply scope of the Reach 5 corridor. This encompassed traction and auxiliary substations, power cables, a 750 V DC third rail system, and a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for electric traction power. Additionally, Linxon delivered a maintenance planning system to BMRCL, which will be installed at the Operations Control Centre and integrated with the SCADA system.
