The HR Business Partner (HRBP) acts as a strategic advisor to leadership teams, supporting organisational goals through effective people strategies. This role partners closely with managers and employees to drive performance, develop talent, strengthen culture, and ensure HR policies and practices are applied consistently and effectively.

Job Responsibilities

Strategic Partnership

  • Partner with senior leaders to understand business objectives and translate them into effective people strategies.
  • Provide expert HR guidance on organisational design, workforce planning, and change management.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives that enhance performance, engagement, and capability.

Employee Relations & Support

  • Advise managers on employee relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes.
  • Coach leaders to build strong people‑management capability and foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Support conflict resolution, grievance handling, and disciplinary processes where required.

Talent, Performance & Development

  • Lead talent management activities, including succession planning, skills development, and capability building.
  • Oversee performance management cycles, ensuring high‑quality goal setting, feedback, and development planning.
  • Identify training needs and collaborate with L&D teams to deliver targeted development solutions.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices are compliant with employment law and aligned with organisational standards.
  • Analyse HR data and metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support recruitment activities, ensuring high‑quality hiring decisions and smooth onboarding processes.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with leaders, employees, and cross‑functional teams.
  • Act as a key point of contact for HR‑related queries, providing timely and effective support.
  • Collaborate with centres of excellence (e.g., Reward, L&D, Recruitment) to deliver integrated HR solutions.
