The Learning and Development Lead is responsible for shaping, delivering, and evaluating the organisation’s learning strategy. This role ensures employees have the skills, knowledge, and development opportunities needed to perform effectively and grow within the business. Acting as a strategic partner to leaders and HR teams, the L&D Lead drives capability‑building, talent development, and a culture of continuous learning.

Job Responsibilities

Learning Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and implement the organisation’s L&D strategy in alignment with business goals.
  • Lead the design and delivery of learning programmes, frameworks, and development pathways.
  • Provide expert guidance to leaders on capability needs, talent development, and organisational learning priorities.

Programme Design & Delivery

  • Conduct training needs analyses to identify skills gaps and development opportunities.
  • Design blended learning solutions, including digital learning, workshops, coaching, and on‑the‑job development.
  • Oversee the creation of high‑quality learning content and materials.

Performance & Talent Development

  • Support succession planning, leadership development, and early‑career programmes.
  • Partner with HR and managers to embed performance development processes.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning interventions and recommend improvements.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with leaders, HR teams, and external training providers.
  • Communicate learning initiatives clearly and effectively across the organisation.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on learning trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.

Operational Management

  • Manage L&D budgets, resources, and vendor relationships.
  • Oversee learning systems (LMS) and ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
  • Track and analyse learning metrics to inform decision‑making and demonstrate impact.
