The Materials Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring the timely availability of materials to support project and production requirements. The role involves coordinating closely with procurement teams, suppliers, logistics, and construction teams to manage material flow efficiently. This includes obtaining quotes, raising purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and ensuring all materials meet required quality and safety standards.

Job Responsibilities

Material Planning & Coordination

  • Analyse production schedules and project plans to determine material requirements.
  • Develop and implement material planning strategies to ensure timely availability of resources.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to support smooth material flow and on‑time deliveries.
  • Create and manage requests for PTEC and associated documentation.

Inventory & Warehouse Management

  • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date inventory records, including stock levels, movements, and locations.
  • Organise and optimise warehouse or storage areas using efficient storage methods and labelling systems.
  • Work alongside logistics and construction teams to ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Generate reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and material usage as required.

Supplier & Procurement Collaboration

  • Communicate with suppliers regarding order status, delivery schedules, and any changes or issues.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to obtain quotes and raise purchase orders.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and escalate delays when necessary.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and partner organisations.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Work with quality assurance teams to ensure incoming materials meet required standards.
  • Ensure adherence to all site quality and safety requirements for incoming PTEC items.
  • Identify and resolve material‑related quality issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to PTEC inventories and supplier information.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within materials management.
  • Propose and support the implementation of best practices and cost‑saving initiatives.
