The Supply Chain Lead acts as the primary point of contact for all contract management matters relating to assigned suppliers and contracts. Operating within a technically complex programme environment, the role works proactively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, contributing to the successful delivery of project objectives.

The Supply Chain Lead is empowered to make decisions within delegated authority levels and is responsible for maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge and reporting on key contract elements, including scope, schedule, pricing, personnel, and incentive arrangements. The role supports the commercial relationship with suppliers, working collaboratively to achieve equitable, value‑driven outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

Strategic Contract & Supply Chain Management

  • Contribute to procurement and contracting strategies that support overall project objectives.
  • Support early contract development activities across technical, programme, legal, and commercial disciplines.
  • Analyse commercial requirements and support the budget process for assigned contracts.
  • Ensure alignment and compatibility between assigned contracts and other project agreements.

Contract Delivery & Governance

  • Manage contracts in accordance with their terms (primarily NEC3 and FIDIC), governance requirements, and project objectives to ensure successful delivery and closeout.
  • Administer commercial management tools such as CEMAR and SAP.
  • Ensure all internal governance approvals are in place, supporting the Commercial Lead as required.
  • Lead the closeout of contracts, capturing and recording commercial lessons learned.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers, fostering a spirit of mutual trust and cooperation.
  • Support the Project Manager in managing the commercial relationship to ensure effective contract delivery.
  • Promote the role of the Intelligent Customer, ensuring commercial probity, value for money, and fair treatment of the supply chain.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work effectively within multi‑disciplinary teams and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Support the preparation and submission of board papers and investment papers in line with project governance.
  • Ensure clear communication of contract requirements, expectations, and performance.

Compliance & Safety

  • Promote and maintain compliance with supply chain policies, nuclear safety requirements, quality controls, and project procedures across procurement and post‑procurement stages.
  • Embed a strong nuclear safety culture, ensuring appropriate oversight, control, and surveillance of supplier activities.

Leadership & Team Support

  • Supervise Supply Chain Contract Managers within the team.
  • Demonstrate collaborative working practices and promote continuous improvement across supply chain activities.
  • Act in a spirit of mutual trust and cooperation to support project success.
