TIG Welders are responsible for performing high‑quality welding operations to join metal parts and fabrications across the site. The role requires precision, technical skill, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards. As part of a wider commitment to continuous improvement, TIG Welders contribute to maintaining exceptional workmanship, professionalism, and ownership in all tasks, supporting the company’s drive to deliver the highest‑quality services in close collaboration with customers.

Job Responsibilities

Welding & Fabrication

  • Interpret job requirements from engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Position, align, and secure components using jigs, fixtures, and appropriate tooling.
  • Select and set up suitable welding equipment, including gas torches, arc equipment, and semi‑automatic or automatic machines.
  • Fit and install correct torch tips, electrodes, and consumables for each task.
  • Join metals using manual metal‑arc, gas‑shielded metal‑arc, and gas‑shielded tungsten‑arc (TIG) welding processes.
  • Preheat materials as required, complete welds to specification, and visually inspect finished work for quality and compliance.

Equipment Setup & Operation

  • Connect hoses, power supplies, and equipment safely and correctly.
  • Adjust controls to regulate gas pressure, voltage, and amperage to achieve required weld quality.
  • Operate overhead cranes and perform basic slinging activities safely and competently.
  • Use oxy/fuel equipment for cutting, heating, and burning tasks as required.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all welding activities meet company standards, customer requirements, and relevant codes.
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy, cleanliness, and workmanship in all welding operations.
  • Follow all safety requirements, including pre‑use checks of tools, equipment, and PPE.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by supporting quality initiatives and identifying opportunities to enhance processes.

Workshop & Site Operations

  • Use all relevant workshop and site equipment in line with training, certification, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
