The Welding Technical Coordinator is responsible for operating and maintaining the site Welding Quality Management System (WeldEye) and providing comprehensive administrative and technical support to the Welding and QA/QC departments. The role ensures accurate input, control, and reporting of welding data, supports the generation of weld process documentation, and contributes to the completion of high‑quality welding records for the project.
The Welding Technical Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring welding activities are properly governed, traceable, and compliant with project requirements, while promoting a strong nuclear safety culture.
WeldEye System Management
- Transfer all required welding data into WeldEye accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain welding activity records, dashboards, and document registers within the system.
- Provide ongoing support to users and ensure data integrity across all welding records.
Weld Documentation & Control
- Generate site‑specific Weld Process Control Cards (WPCCs) in accordance with approved Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS), the Site Technical Schedule (STS), and engineering drawings.
- Create TQS entries and assign Weld IDs as required.
- Generate Work Orders, including WPCC, PWHT, and NDE requests.
- Maintain work files containing all necessary supporting documentation.
Technical Support & Coordination
- Provide administrative and technical support to the Welding and QA/QC departments.
- Interact with all departments involved in welding operations to ensure smooth coordination and information flow.
- Assist in analysing welding and NDT data, KPIs, and performance trends.
- Incorporate lessons learned and best practices into welding documentation and processes.
Quality Assurance & Governance
- Contribute to the completion and maintenance of site welding quality records.
- Support work‑face governance by ensuring welding, heat treatment, and NDT activities are properly documented and controlled.
- Champion Foreign Material Exclusion (FME), ensuring no non‑specified materials or debris enter equipment or systems during assembly and testing.
Safety & Culture
- Lead and promote a positive Nuclear Safety Culture in all welding‑related activities.
- Ensure all work aligns with project quality, safety, and compliance requirements.
