The Welding/Piping QC Inspector is responsible for monitoring, verifying, and reporting compliance with all applicable quality standards, specifications, and procedures across welding and piping activities. The role supports construction teams in achieving required quality levels, identifies improvement opportunities, and assists in resolving quality‑related concerns. The inspector ensures that all work meets contractual, regulatory, and project‑specific requirements.
Inspection & Verification
- Perform inspections in accordance with the approved Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
- Liaise with the client’s representative to coordinate day‑to‑day inspections during construction activities.
- Verify that equipment installation complies with ECS Codes, drawings, vendor specifications, and relevant standards, including checks on materials, alignment, and workmanship.
Quality Documentation & Records
- Maintain and update Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs), ensuring all required signatures and documentation are captured during inspections.
- Update the SONIM register as required to support accurate quality tracking and reporting.
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with the QC Manager and Area Leads to support the execution of quality responsibilities across the project.
- Assist construction teams in achieving quality standards by providing clear guidance and timely feedback.
- Support non‑conformance management, including identification, disposition, and closure of corrective and preventive actions.
Compliance & Best Practice
- Ensure all welding and piping activities comply with project specifications, codes, and quality procedures.
- Champion Foreign Material Exclusion (FME), preventing the ingress or entrapment of non‑specified materials, loose items, or debris within equipment or systems during assembly and testing.
Continuous Improvement
- Recommend methods to improve overall quality performance and assist in analysing quality concerns.
- Contribute to the development of quality awareness and best practices across construction teams.
